New Adult Classes Begin April 9th!

Whether you’re new to art making or looking to get back to a neglected practice, adult art classes at Denver School of the Arts offer fun, no-stress instruction. Class size is limited to 10 students to meet individual needs at any level. Students must be at least 16 years of age.
Printmaking Sampler, Five Tuesdays , 6 – 8 p.m, April 9, 16, 23, 30, and May 7. This class will introduce students to four basic forms of printmaking including relief, intaglio, monotype, and screen printing. You will complete a small print in each of these techniques to gain an understanding of each process. Returning students may choose to work in one or two specific techniques in a larger format to further explore subject matter and technique. All materials are included except paper which will be discussed at the first class. Tuition $120
Introduction to Observational Drawing; Five Wednesdays, 6 – 8 pm; April 10, 17, 24, and May 1 and 8. Drawing is a useful and rewarding skill which is dependent on visual cues that anyone with a desire, can learn. We’ll focus on learning to see shapes, sizes, and relationships between parts to capture accurate rendering of objects. We’ll do a variety of exercises in the sketchbook each week following demos and discussion. We”ll cover some Idea Generators and ways to practice outside of class to further improve skill. All materials are included EXCEPT a sketchbook. Please bring a spiral or bound sketchbook (no larger than 9 x 12 and no smaller than 7 x 7) to the first class. Tuition: $110
Introduction to Color and Watercolor Painting: Five Thursdays, 6 – 8 p.m., April 11, 18, 25, and May 2 and 9. Watercolor is low cost and versatile–conducive to experimentation. We’ll try a variety of techniques and subject matter as we learn basic color blending and mixing. Materials: All materials, except paper, are included in the class. We’ll discuss paper options at the first class. Tuition: $115.
